Press Release

ORLANDO, 1 September 2016 - CAPA - Centre for Aviation announced that Orlando will host the third annual CAPA Americas Aviation Summit on 4-5 April 2017 at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes Hotel.

The event, which attracts airline and travel industry CEOs from across the Americas region, Asia, Europe and the Middle East, is a high-level forum for debate and discussion of strategic issues facing the region's aviation industry.

The event is hosted by Orlando International Airport and co-hosted by Visit Orlando, Experience Kissimmee and Visit Florida.

"Orlando International Airport and Central Florida's willingness to welcome the CAPA Americas Aviation Summit is evidence of our commitment to connecting the world and bringing more international travel to our area", said Phil Brown, Executive Director of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. "International traffic has been our strongest growth segment, accounting for more than 13 percent of our overall passenger totals. Events such as this can only help us continue with our international success."

"We are excited to announce that Orlando will be our host city for the third annual CAPA Americas Aviation Summit in 2017. In the past, the event has gathered the key aviation leaders of the globe. We hope to do so again in this world class city and region that has tremendous business, travel and tourism opportunities for our delegates", said CAPA Executive Chairman Peter Harbison. "We appreciate that the community has come together to be part of this event."

Orlando is the ideal destination for the CAPA Americas Aviation Summit 2017, with 4-5 April dates that will allow for great weather and outdoor activities. The JW Marriott Grande Lakes has a dedicated golf course and outdoor activities that will be part of the event.
